FRANCE DEFEAT ICELAND 5:2,TO PROCEED TO SEMI-FINALS AGAINST GERMANY.

France cruised into the semi-finals of Euro 2016 after thrashing Iceland 5-2 in Paris thanks to goals from Olivier Giroud, Paul Pogba, Dimitri Payet and Antoine Griezmann.
Didier Deschamps made two changes to his side bringing in Samuel Umtiti and Moussa Sissoko for the suspended N’Golo Kante and Adil Rami with Iceland unchanged for a record fifth game in a row.
The hosts began brightly and opened the scoring after just 12 minutes, Giroud latching onto a pass from Blaise Matuidi and firing clinically through goalkeeper Halldorsson's legs. Pogba then added a second, seven minutes later, heading Griezmann’s corner home before Payet and Griezmann scored within minutes of each other just before half-time to effectively seal the tie.
Iceland grabbed one back after the break through Kolbeinn Sigthorsson before Giroud grabbed his second of the night to set up a semi-final clash with world champions Germany.
Iceland has emerged the first country to play 5 matches with the same starting 11 in the history of EURO cup.
