MAN BOARDS PLANE WITHOUT A PASSPORT AND VISA.
A man was arrested at Heathrow airport last night after he boarded a plane without a passport or a ticket.
The suspect, who is being held by police, got on the Cathay Pacific flight for Hong Kong at around 7pm.
The aircraft was immediately evacuated.
He is being held on suspicion of being unlawfully airside.
Passengers were not allowed to re-board for 90 minutes while checks were underway.
A Heathrow spokesman said: “Yesterday evening, a flight to Hong Kong experienced a minor delay after a passenger was found to have incorrect travel documents.
“As per standard procedure, the passenger was quickly offloaded and the flight subsequently departed.”
Police said: “At around 7pm on Monday, 3 April, a man was arrested at Heathrow Airport having boarded a Cathay Pacific flight scheduled to depart for Hong Kong.
‘The man was arrested on suspicion of being unlawfully airside. He was taken to a west London police station, where he remains in custody.
‘The passengers returned to the gate, before re-boarding the aircraft around 90 minutes later.”
