Traditional Chiefs in Akure Kingdom, Ondo State
capital has officially announced the demise of the
Paramount Ruler of the Kingdom, Oba Adebiyi
Adesida.
The King was earlier reported to have passed on in his palace
at about 2.30 am on Sunday, December 1, after a brief
illness.
Speaking to Journalists at the premises of the King’s palace,
after announcing the demise of the King, The Sao of Akure
Kingdom, High Chief Moses Adebayo said that the news of
the Deji’s death was a rude shock and a highly unfortunate
incident to the entire people of Akure.
Some indigenes of the town who spoke to Journalists also
expressed sadness on the untimely death of their King.
The late Oba Adebiyi Adesida was enthroned as Deji in
September 2010. He was until his death the Chairman of the
Council of Traditional Rulers in Ondo State.as a respect there will be 7days of no business activity in the state..
He died at the age of 63 after 3 years on the throne.
