Siasa Invites Iheanacho, Osimhen and Awoniyi For Olympic Games At Rio.

Ahead of the Rio 2016 Olympic Games, Chief Coach of the National U-23 side, Samson Siasia has expressed his readiness to include Manchester City 23-man squad.
Siasia however, said he will like the Nigeria Football Federation (NFF) to streamline issues so as to avoid the situation where he will invite the player and the Coach of the Super Eagles, Sunday Oliseh will also invite him at the same time.
“I want to get him, but the last time I invited Iheanacho, Oliseh invited him also so it looked like we were not doing the right thing, so we need to streamline things. If the Super Eagles are inviting him, they should invite him so that we don’t send an invitation and suddenly they get another one from the Super Eagles which suggests that something is wrong somewhere. I will reach out to the team secretary to find out if they want Iheanacho for the next game, but if they don’t need him, I want him."
Siasia also spoke of Osimhen, the FIFA U-17 World Cup winner, whom the coach said his technical crew has been impressed with his performance. “Victor Osimhen is always a part of us. He is a young man that is doing very well, I was impressed with him and that was why I started him in our last qualifying game in Senegal, you have to look at the practice session and see how the players are doing to determine who plays at any time.”
The coach equally regretted what he described as the drop in form of former Golden Eaglets striker, Taiwo Awoniyi who recently joined Premiership side, Liverpool. He added that he will like him to have more playing time so as to sharpen his latent skills.
“I talked about Awoniyi because he is a good player, but what we saw in Senegal is not him, he is a good quality player but if he gets more playing time before the Olympics, he may pick up again. We want to see how much playing time he will get before the Olympics. We have about four FIFA windows before the Olympics and we hope to use them to look at the players we think might be part of the squad for the championship.”
The former national team player nevertheless said he is yet to know the three players he will select for the games as allowed by the International Olympics Committee (IOC).
